A SUMMER fete, held in aid of plucky 11-year-old Bulwell girl Gemma Tutin, raised a remarkable total of £865.
Gemma, of Bannerman Road, suffers from an extremely rare but severe lung condition, known as local pulmonary fibrosis.

She is currently waiting for a crucial transplant, which would be carried out at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

The fete was held at Gemma's school, St Mary's Church of England Primary in Bulwell, on Tuesday afternoon.

It included a raffle, tombola, cake stalls, fire-engine displays and a variety of games.

Half of the total will now go to Great Ormond Street with the other half going towards a laptop so Gemma can keep up with her school work if she has to stay in hospital.

Gemma's mum, Lorraine, said: "It was a great couple of hours and we raised a terrific amount. I would especially like to thank Lorna Hayward for helping me organise the event."

The school also held a non-uniform fundraising day last Friday, while Gemma herself has raised money for Great Ormond Street in the past.
