A BULWELL woman with special talents is the driving force behind the LIFE support group, who provide a lifeline for young adults with learning difficulties or special needs.
Suzie Wright, of Warrington Road, is a support worker at New College Nottingham where her expertise lies in helping vulnerable adults and those with disabilities.
She set up the LIFE support group, who are based at Aspley Methodist Church.
LIFE (Learning In A Fun Environment) meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm and accommodate 20 students.
While Suzie, who has two children, is the group's mainstay, she is supported by a team made up of three paid staff and nine volunteer helpers, three with learning difficulties.
Since their official opening by Bulwell's Labour MP Graham Allen last September, the LIFE group have gone from strength to strength.
In an ambitious move, Suzie is hoping to establish a luncheon club for people in the community, while an allotment is another project in the pipeline.
Suzie said "There is a terrific spirit of friendship within the LIFE group whose members enjoy trying out new challenges and making the most of opportunities presented to them."
