‘Bat night’ to take flight at country park

A ‘BAT Night’ to be held at Bestwood Country Park next Wednesday is a rare chance to meet these nocturnal creatures.

You can learn more about the twilight world of the flying mammals with a slide talk and, hopefully, an opportunity to see live rescued bats up close.

This will be followed by a brief night vigil to witness bats hunting over the Mill Lakes.

Pre-booking for the event, from 6 pm to 8.30 pm, is essential by calling 0115 9273674.

More traditional enjoyment of the country park will take the form of a seasonal guided walk on Sunday September 30 from 10 am to 12 midday, starting from the winding engine house car park.

The two events are part of Notts County Council’s ‘What’s On’ listings.
