Craft show and race night at John Godber Centre

HUCKNALL’S John Godber Centre has a full diary packed with events in the coming weeks.

Tomorrow (Saturday) sees lots of craft enthusiasts bringing their creations to the Ogle Street centre for a craft and craft supplies show.

From 10 am to 3 pm, everyone is invited to go along and see what is on offer, whether you want to buy someone else’s creation or buy products to make your own artistic masterpiece.

The event is free of charge.

Thursday October 25 will see horse racing fans come together for a fun-filled night of fundraising.

A Race Night is organised to not only entertain but to raise money towards the John Godber Centre Development Fund.

It is hoped the fund will help towards the refurbishment of the centre.

Doors open at 7 pm and the first race is under starters orders at 7.30 pm.

Tickets are available for the evening at £2 each either in advance from the centre or on the night.

“Last year the same event raised funds to repair and refurbish the Main Hall floor,” said centre manager, Kim Pears. “This benefited numerous groups who use the centre on a weekly basis.

“We’ve also secured several sponsors for the event and have collected a selection of raffle prizes which will be drawn on the night and help boost the fund further.”
