Dinner lady retires after 25 years of dedicated service
DEDICATED dinnerlady SUE PARR has said a fond farewell to youngsters and staff at a Bulwell school.
Mid-day supervisor Sue has retired after almost 25 years looking after the youngest children at Crabtree Farm Primary.
On her last day, Sue was presented with an array of surprises and gifts from colleagues and children who were sad to see her go.
“Sue was one of our longest-serving members of staff and she will be sorely missed,” said school secretary, Mel Smith. “She has been a totally committed staff member who has hardly missed a day and come out in all weathers.”
Sue began her duties at Bonnington Infants School over two decades ago. The infant and junior schools merged in 2009 and became Crabtree Primary.
“Sue was overwhelmed on her last day with all the well wishes she received and many of the children made her parting gifts,” added Mel.
“She loved spending time with the children and enjoyed her many years with us but I know she was looking forward to her retirement and looking after her grandchild.”
Headteacher, Robert Dunbar, said Sue was a valuable member of the team.
He said that she was dedicated and will be missed.
