Fire-safety message for families

HUCKNALL’S Young People’s Centre welcomed firefighters from the town’s fire station on Monday.

Members of the Fire Service visited to deliver fire safety messages aimed at keeping homes and families safe during the festive season focusing on tree lights, candles and smoke alarms.

“It was a very useful session,” said development worker, Catherine Allsopp. “The parents found the information very interesting and informative and it highlighted how to avoid the dangers.

“Children also had the chance to climb aboard the engine afterwards. It was a great session.”
