Macmillan advice rolls in to town
Michelle Jacklin talks to local residents about Macmillan Cancer support at Hucknall market place on Monday
RESIDENTS in Hucknall were given the opportunity to ask questions that were causing them concern about cancer when the Macmillan support bus rolled in to town.
The Macmillan Cancer Support’s mobile information team arrived on Monday October 15 and parked up in the car park at St Mary Magdalene Church, just off the Market Square.
Not only did the team visit to answer any questions posed by visitors, but also to promote their Move More campaign. This initiative is aimed at getting cancer patients to keep active to prevent any reoccurrence or other long-term illnesses.
“This is our second visit this year to Hucknall,” said a spokesman. “We had 33 visitors, 16 male and 17 female, with enquiries made about different cancers, some of which needed detailed explanations from our specialists.”
