Make a will and give boost to good causes

PEOPLE of the Dispatch district who do not have a proper will are being given a special chance to make one — and boost charity into the bargain.

This opportunity to get an affordable will and give to charity instead of paying a solicitor will only happen during November.

The initiative is called Will Aid: Making A Will Month. Solicitors providing this service are Samina Hussain, of Robert Barber and Sons on Watnall Road, Hucknall and Kenneth Curtis, of Curtis and Parkinson on Main Street, Bulwell.

A Will Aid spokesman said: “Making a will is easy and gives you the peace of mind of knowing your family and friends will be covered after your death, and that your possessions will go to those you care about.

“It is not only the elderly who need to make a will. If you have young children, it is important to appoint guardians for them should the worst happen. If you have already made a will, it is important to keep it up to date, covering possible changes in your circumstances.

“The Will Aid solicitor will draw up a basic will and, instead of charging a fee, will ask you to make a donation to charities helping people in need. The suggested donation is just £90 for a single will and £40 for a codicil, which is a change to an existing will.”
