PHOTO ALBUM MEMORIES 1934: Girls ready for carnival time

A PICTURE taken at the first of the successful Hucknall Summer Carnivals in 1934 is this week’s contribution to our PHOTO ALBUM MEMORIES series.

The photo shows six ladies from Hucknall’s former W. Reynolds and Company hosiery factory celebrating their participation in the carnival.

They are (from left) Rene Drakely, Sylvia Morley, Lottie Hallam, Mona Dennis and someone unknown. Sitting at the front is Anne Roberts.

The factory is mentioned in a book by Hucknall local history bursar Maureen Newton, which was launched exactly ten years ago.

Ex-councillor Don Reynolds, whose father founded the factory, attended the launch.
