A VICTORY in Europe (VE) day party at Butlers Hill, Hucknall, was in full swing when this photo was taken back in 1945.

The picture, loaned to us by regular contributor Charles Goodman (84), of Lime Tree Road, Hucknall, is the latest in our PHOTO ALBUM MEMORIES series.

On the left-hand side, you may be able to make out the head of Butlers Hill boy Walter Beasley, who later became rector at St Mary’s Church, Bulwell and died earlier this year.
