PHOTO ALBUM MEMORIES 1960s: Children’s Christmas party

A CHRISTMAS party in full swing is the subject of this contribution to our PHOTO ALBUM MEMORIES FEATURE.

The event was held for families associated with Hucknall’s former Ruffs Rovers Football Club.

The photo, dating from the 1960s, has been loaned by Dispatch reader Carol Pacey, whose mother, Joyce Palin, organised the party.

The picture was taken at the club’s base on Ruffs Drive, which has since been demolished.

Carol said: “My mum used to run the football club. You had to do as you were told or you could expect a clip round the ear!”
