Puppy walkers wanted for Guide Dogs charity
DOG-LOVERS are needed across the Dispatch district to prepare puppies to become future guide dogs.
Guide Dogs are appealing for volunteers for their puppy walking scheme to provide crucial full-time care for puppies from six weeks old until they reach 12-14 months old when they will begin their formal guide dog training.
“We’re looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers who can care for the puppies full-time for the first year of their life,” said Dave Clough, Guide Dogs’ volunteer development co-ordinator.
“Puppy walking is challenging and requires commitment but with the support of Guide Dogs staff, our volunteers find puppy walking extremely rewarding and worthwhile.”
Guide Dogs will supply the basic equipment needed and will cover all veterinary and feeding expenses.
If you have the time, energy and commitment needed and want to become a puppy walker to help people in future need, you can find out more information about the scheme by calling 0845 371 7771.
Alternatively email volunteer@guidedogs.org.uk.
