AN "EXCELLENT" care home in Hucknall is flying the flag for quality after receiving a three-star rating from the industry's regulator.
Annesley Lodge (pictured), on Annesley Road, was rated by the Commission for Social Care Inspection's (CSCI) new system.

The home received its "excellent" rating in the areas of daily life and activities as well as in staffing, management and administration.

Under the CSCI system, care homes and other care services can be awarded a score from zero to the maximum of three stars with ratings of poor, adequate, good or excellent.

Each home is ranked in a variety of areas which add up to make the home's overall score.

Karen Hutson, manager at the home, said: "Our team works very hard to achieve high standards and we all contribute to providing residents with a wide choice of social events throughout the year.

"It's good to know that we are an excellent home, providing our residents with the best possible care and activities."

The inspection report said Annesley Lodge is "a well-maintained, safe, comfortable, attractive home, which has all the specialist equipment and adaptations to meet the needs of residents.

"The health and personal care that residents receive is based on their individual needs."

Annesley Lodge is run by Anchor Homes, a non-profit provider of residential and nursing care in England. It houses a total of 47 elderly residents and employs 40 staff — DISPIC 08-0977-1.
