HUCKNALL'S newly-formed Business Voice group, representing traders in the town, came in for praise at Ashfield District Council's latest 'State Of Ashfield' meeting.
Deputy leader Coun Austin Rathe (Lib Dem), of Hucknall, said: "This is the first time the council have interacted properly with businesses in Hucknall in an organised, clear way.

"Businesses are tremendously important stakeholders in the regeneration of the town centre within the time-frame of the council's corporate plan. They can put valuable input into the process."

It was reported that the multi-million pound town-centre masterplan was developing with community involvement and new town-centre manager Mark Armstrong was doing an excellent job.
