'CHEERS' to Hucknall town centre's Pilgrim Oak pub.
The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) have hailed the High Street local as being truly local.

The Pilgrim is the first pub in Hucknall to be accredited by CAMRA as a member of their LocAle scheme.

It joins a select group of pubs which have agreed to serve on a permanent basis at least one cask beer from a brewery within 20 miles of its location.

Pilgrim Oak manager Sarah Laking said: "We are well-known for offering a good range of cask-conditioned ales. When I learned about the LocAle scheme, I thought this would offer our regulars an opportunity to sample some excellent quality local beers.

"The scheme is also good for the environment and the local economy."

The LocAle scheme is backed by the 'Campaign For Better Transport' environmental group, which looks at what it calls 'beer miles' issues – the distance that beer is transported.
