COULD aliens have visited Hucknall? That's the extraordinary claim after reports of the sighting of a UFO.
At about 11.20 last Friday night, Bejay Guard (53) was relaxing in front of the TV with the curtains open at her home on Carlingford Road.

Out of the blue, she spotted a peculiar glowing light in the clear night sky (pictured) and immediately went outside to investigate.

Bejay said: "I was just lying there when I caught sight of this light in the sky moving towards the house.

"It was coming from the direction of Annesley – and I hadn't had a drink, so I knew I wasn't seeing things.

"I went outside to have a look and my housemate, Sandra Brewers, suggested I grab a camera.

"It was orange in colour and about the size of a helicopter. It was rounded but like a jellyfish in shape and had three holes on it.

"I'm not sure how high up it was but it was not moving in a straight line. It was zig-zagging.

"It was coming towards the house, then it went left, then right.

"It can't have been an aircraft because there was no noise coming from it whatsoever and there were no flashing lights you associate with planes.

"I'm not sure what it was. It could just have been a comet or meteorite.

"But it was quite amazing and I was taken aback by it. I had never seen anything like it before.

"I kept an eye on it for as long as I could before it disappeared behind houses, heading towards Nottingham. I would be surprised if no-one else saw it."

To back up Bejay's story, there was an influx of similar sightings throughout the UK last weekend.

And spookily, they were in places that fit in with Bejay's story.
The first reported sighting was by a woman travelling through Kirkby-in-Ashfield at about 11.15 the same night.

She described seeing a "huge illuminated spherical object somewhere over the Ravenshead area".

The object dimmed and disappeared but when the same woman arrived at her mum's house in Brinsley ten minutes later, she saw another similar-sized "glowing ball of light moving in a west-to-east direction".

This object went over her mum's house in the direction of Hucknall. She said that aircraft regularly pass over the house but usually head in a north-south direction and there was no noise from this object.

Just over an hour later, in the early hours of Saturday morning, in Mapperley Park, a witness reported a red/orange/yellow ball in the sky that was moving silently and slowly towards the city centre.

And there were then more sightings of similar objects further south, including a "bright orange orb moving slowly, steadily and silently across the sky".

Kenneth Parsons, of The British Earth and Aerial Mysteries Society (BEAMS) said: "We have investigated a number of similar unidentified objects such as this. The descriptions are not at all unusual.

"We are talking about a phenomenon that is not recognised or covered by mainstream physics.

"These types of objects often display extraordinary shape-shifting and intelligence about them which light just does not do.

"Some UFOs can move at high speeds, make seemingly intelligent manoeuvres, stop dead in the middle of flight, hover, render themselves invisible, make sharp right-angled turns or change shape before your eyes.

"I believe that someone in a position of high authority knows much more about this phenomenon than they are letting on and are keeping quiet for fear of public panic."

The "UFO's" that are being described are simply Chinese Fire Lanterns. See http://www.glo-lantern.co.uk/ . I saw them a couple of weeks ago rising over Annesley as people were releasing them from the lake area of Annesley business park. I have just come back from the Glastonbury Festival where they are also common place and I saw several floating up into the sky. They move from side to side slightly as they bob up and down whilst rising because of air currents and prevailing winds.

Ufo’s have been spotted over Hucknall for many years I captured images of one on a video camera a few years ago the video has been analysed and never been proven to be anything other than a UFO.
I think its possible the recent sightings could have been Chinese Fire Lanterns but that’s just one possibility and not a fact .
