AS part of their Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the Bestwood Male Voice Choir produced a very popular and well-received programme of music at their concert at the Ravenshead Village Hall.
Singing to an almost capacity audience, the choir performed a varied programme of both traditional and popular songs.
Moving and well-appreciated solos were performed by chairman Colin Pursglove, Adrian Griffiths and David Riley, with Adrian and David singing the well-known and famous duet from Bizet’s opera, ‘The Pearl Fishers’.
The choir were conducted by their long-standing and well-respected musical director, Mirek Rus, with piano accompaniment provided by Glenys Skidmore and assistant musical director Hilary Griffiths.
During the interval, members of the audience were treated to tea and home-made cakes, provided by the lady supporters of the choir.
