CHRISTMAS trees were on sale at a fundraising autumn fair held at SEYMOUR ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH in Hucknall.

A stall selling gifts, decorations and greetings cards for the festive season proved popular as the event collected £680.

The money will be split between the Seymour Road church and charities at home and abroad.

Other attractions included a cake stall with sweet treats baked by church members, a tombola, a stall selling items for £1, fancy goods and a bric-a-brac stand run by the St John Ambulance.

Church secretary Nova Haskey, who was one of the organisers, said: “It went very well. We had a good turnout and the amount raised was pretty good considering how times are tough.

“We seemed extremely busy throughout the day. It really is worthwhile backing the event.”
