A SCHOOL-uniform manufacturer based in Hucknall went to infinity and beyond to raise money for Comic Relief.

For a member of staff was transformed into ‘Toy Story’ character Buzz Lightyear as part of a fancy-dress day at Price And Buckland.

Staff also rolled back the years to wear school uniform — blazers, short trousers, ponytails and all. While others donned pyjamas and dressing gowns as part of the sponsored event at the firm’s base on Benneworth Close, off Watnall Road.

Other attractions included a ‘bring and buy’ cake sale, which featured pumpkin pie created by the company’s new stock analyst, who is from the USA.

There was also a general-knowledge quiz with a £1 entry fee. Anthony and Nick Buckland, joint owners of the business, provided a mystery star prize — a bottle of champagne.

The whole effort collected £233 as part of the nationwide charity drive, which raised an astonishing total of more than £74 million on the back of a telethon on BBC TV last Friday.
