Hallowe’en spookfest at abbey

A TEAM of paranormal investigators descended on historic Newstead Abbey last weekend for a special pre-Hallowe’en ghost hunt.

Haunted Events UK, which has previously held ghost hunting nights at Sherwood Forest as well as Newstead Abbey, delved deep into the history of poet Lord Byron’s ancestral home on Friday and Saturday night.

Paranormal investigator Lee Roberts, from Sutton, and medium Michelle Hare, of Huthwaite, headed the investigation, along with their specialist team.

Lee, who also has a show on Sutton’s Takeover Radio, said: “The event went very well and we had a 100 per cent positive response and great feedback from everyone involved.

“We carried out a number of activities, including glass moving and table tipping in the room next to Lord Byron’s bedroom.

“Things are going very well at the moment and there is a big demand for our events.”
