Libraries ready for rush to snap up Harry Potter author’s new book
HARRY Potter might be in the past, but best-selling author JK Rowling is back with her first adult novel.
The hotly-anticipated book has been hitting the headlines nationally — and locally there is already a waiting list for those wanting to loan it from Hucknall Library on Market Place.
‘The Casual Vacancy’ is tipped to top the bestseller list and is already causing a storm.
Notts County Council’s libraries have already received 18 copies of the novel for distribution county-wide and more are on the way.
“New books are received in our libraries every day as we refresh and update our stock,” said Fiona Littlewood, principal librarian for resources. “Books such as the new JK Rowling one, which are generating a lot of interest, always result in a lot of demand in our libraries. It is fantastic for libraries and book lovers when there is this interest.
“Another author’s work in demand is popular crime writer Michael Connelly, whose latest publication is available later this year.
“We will be distributing these books quickly to our libraries so that the first readers on the waiting list can begin to read it.”
