THE 24TH annual reunion of miners at the former LINBY COLLIERY again proved a nostalgic event.

The venue was Hucknall Town Football Club’s Talk Of The Town Social Club on Watnall Road where more than 100 people were present.

The reunion was organised by committee members Adrian Dickinson, Tosh Gluchowski, Marilyn and Snowy Winfield and Doreen and Terry Werle.

Lots of memories were mulled over, and features of the evening were a buffet, a raffle and a disco.

Every year, the reunion committee makes a donation to a charity, and the recipients this time were Cancer Research UK. The charity was represented by Shirley and John Wright for the presentation of a cheque for £300. The couple expressed heartfelt thanks for the generosity shown.

Next year’s reunion, which will be the milestone 25th, is again to take place at the Talk Of The Town — on Friday March 22.
