Santa pays early visit to town

MUCH-loved Linby great-gran Rene Flint has taken part in the annual Hucknall Parish Church Christmas bazaar for more than 50 years.

She regularly has a stall from which she sells beautiful crochet items which she has made herself.

Now 95, Rene was once again to be seen at last Saturday’s bazaar, assisted by some members of her family of six chldren, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchldren. Church member Anthea Roberts said: “We all think Rene is wonderful.”

There was a bumper turnout of bargain hunters at the bazaar, which raised a total of £1,271. Goods for sale ranged from dolls to DVDs.

Santa Claus put in an early appearance and Hucknall gran Linda Cooper was also present to sign copies of her highly-praised new children’s book, ‘The Dust Pups’
