Talking Turkey at U3A

SHOTS of wildlife and flowers taken in Turkey by photographer Ged Hall wowed members of the Hucknall University of the Third Age (U3A) Group at their October meeting.

A picture gallery entitled ‘Turkish Treasures’ was inspired by Ged’s holidays taken on the country’s coast near Dalaman Province.

The slideshow included owls, turtles, cormorants, squirrels and insects, including spiders and scorpions.

Many flowers also featured, including orchids and wild arum lilies. All of this was accompanied by a detailed commentary.

The meeting also heard that more than 40 members enjoyed an eight-day holiday in Tuscany, Italy, while a Christmas market trip to Prague is planned next month.

The group meets again next on Wednesday November 9 when Gilian Cane will give a talk entitled ‘A Girl’s Life In The Army’.
