Triple joy for Lily in sponsored run
Lily Williams on the run
KIND-hearted Hucknall youngster LILY WILLIAMS (pictured) completed her charity run along the town’s bypass last Saturday.
Now a trio of worthy causes are set to benefit from fundraising that, it is hoped, will top £300.
Ten-year-old Lily completed her run in 26 mins 12 secs, supported along the way by her family and friends.
“There were a few tears on the finishing line as I was so proud of her achievement,” said mum Davina, who took the opportunity to stop at the Texaco petrol station at the Watnall Road end of the road to collect from motorists.
“Lily had a huge smile on her face, even though she was tired as she ended up doing 3.2 miles rather than the planned 2.6 as she ran on the opposite side to avoid having to cross the road.”
Sponsorship will be shared between Action for Blind People, Nottinghamshire Goalball and Beau Beau’s Fund in aid of tragic Hucknall toddler Beau Angelides.
Lily, who trained with her dad, Chris, added: “It was great fun. Maybe next year I will do another run — but longer.”
