COCA Cola League Two side Notts County will present an extra pre-season 'conundrum' as Hucknall Town 'Countdown' to their Blue Square North campaign.
For Magpies boss Ian McParland is expected to send a full first-team to Watnall Road on Thursday July 24 (7.30 pm kick off) for a pre-season friendly.

And likely to be part of that side is midfielder Neil MacKenzie, who has been making a name for himself on the TV show 'Countdown' recently.

Last week the 32-year-old became the first-ever professional footballer to take part in the Channel 4 daytime quiz show.

He staged a dramatic late comeback in his debut show and then went on to wow host Des O'Connor with four more wins.

The game should be a good test for Mick Galloway and Andy Miller's new look side against a County outfit that finished a disappointing 21st in their division last season.

The game will have added sentiment for Galloway as County were his first professional club. He made 23 appearances for the Meadow Lane outfit from 1993 to 1997.

Current Town players James Lindley and Paul Mitchell have also been on County's books.
