Kettle puts pen to paper

GOAL-machine David Kettle has been rewarded for his 'steaming' pre-season performances for Hucknall Town with a deal at Watnall Road.
Kettle put pen to paper with management duo Mick Galloway and Andy Miller before Saturday's postponement at Fleetwood Town.
The 23-year-old striker featured in all seven of The Yellows' pre-season games, making two starts and five substitute appearances and scoring four goals.
Kettle's arrival at Watnall Road last month, from his studies at Loughborough University, was shrouded in mystery.
For Kettle claimed to have been in the Notts County side that played at Middlesbrough in the FA Cup in January 2004.
He signed for Notts from Teversal after impressing scouts in the 2003 Notts FA Senior Cup final against The Yellows at Meadow Lane.
However a check through the official records shows that Kettle was not in the Magpies' starting 11, nor even on the substitutes' bench, at the Riverside Stadium.
However he will now be expected to put the pressure on Town's experienced first choice front-three of Danny Bacon, Gary Ricketts and Pete Knox and show some of the form that earned him a deal at Meadow Lane.
