EXCITED duo Mick Galloway and Andy Miller have been unveiled as the new management team at Hucknall Town.
Ex-pro Galloway and local coach Miller have been handed the task of steering The Yellows back to the Blue Square North – and both admitted this week that they are relishing the challenge.
The pair replace David Lloyd, who was sacked after Town's relegation to the Unibond League, Premier Division.
Galloway and Miller, who are good friends, say they are keen to build an entertaining and successful side that Hucknall can be proud of.
Appointed by vice-chairman Dave Gamble and vice-president John Coleman, the duo have been given a clean slate with which to start and the opportunity to build their own side and implement their own ideas.
Both men live locally and are Nottingham through and through, while Miller even confesses to being a regular reader of the Dispatch!
Gamble and Coleman say the bosses will work together and have an equal say on transfers, tactics and training.
Galloway and Miller have already pieced together a plan for pre-season training, which will start at the end of June or the beginning of July.
And this week, they have been busy deciding which players they want to keep at Watnall Road and which they no longer require.
Ex-Notts County midfielder Galloway, who has been on the playing staff at Watnall Road for the last ten weeks, impressed Town officials at interview.
But Gamble insisted that someone be brought in to work alongside him because he will continue to play next season.
Gamble wanted to avoid a repeat of the problems faced by Andy Legg when he tried to combine playing and managing, therefore Galloway asked for Miller.
Since joining Town in February, Galloway has made four starts, plus eight as substitute
The 33-year-old started his career at Notts County before moving on to Gillingham, Chesterfield and Carlisle United.
He then moved to Scotland where he played for Gretna and Cowdenbeath before drifting into the non-league game at Workington.
Speaking to the Dispatch, Galloway said: "We are aiming to get the club back into the Blue Square North and we want to do it entertaining the crowd with our football.
"I am very excited and looking forward to the job. I am determined to be a success here.
"I want to go far as a manager, so I am fully committed to building a very successful side here.
"I am devoting all my time to this job.
