THE START of 2011 was special for a young Bulwell woman. For 20-year-old Emma Kertesz, of Merchant Street, became a mum for the first time on New Year’s Day.

She gave birth to a baby girl, Evie-May, in Nottingham City Hospital. Evie-May was born at 2.14 am, weighing 5 lb 11 oz. Emma’s partner, Kyle Reed (22), is the proud father.

Evie-May is Emma’s first child and she is also the first grandchild of Emma’s mother, Marie Kertesz, and Kyle’s parents, Carl and Tracy.

Marie said: “Evie-May is a beautiful baby and we are all absolutely delighted. I am thrilled to have become a grandma for the first time and we could not have wished for a better start to the New Year. It feels fantastic.”

Evie-May was one of no fewer than 14 babies born at the City Hospital on the first day of the New Year.
