British Transport Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a passenger who boarded the train at Hucknall become abusive towards a member of rail staff.

The incident happened on Wednesday, 7 July, shortly before 2.45pm on board a train service which was arriving into Newstead station.

A man boarded a train at Hucknall station at 2.39pm.

He hid in the toilets and due to this he was spoken to by a member of rail staff. When he was confronted about a ticket the man became abusive towards the staff member.

Investigating officer Phillip Burn said: “I am keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as I believe he has information about this incident.”
