Bolsover Castle will be alive with the sound of medieval combat once again later this month, as it hosts its annual joust event.

Charging horses and fully armoured knights will be clashing in spectacular fashion as heroes from all four corners of the country gather at the castle on Sunday 25th and Monday 26th August for English Heritage’s Grand Medieval Joust.

Events coordinator Amanda Twells said: “This event is definitely one not to miss this summer – Bolsover Castle is a stunning backdrop to an event full of strength, skill and bravery.”

There is also a special knight school for youngsters to find out if they have what it takes to be a knight.

Prices, including entry to the castle and grounds, are £13 for adults, £7.80 for children, £11.70 concessions and £33.80 for family tickets.

Prices for English Heritage members are £3.50 for adults, £2.10 for children or £9.50 for families. Tickets can be purchased on the day or by calling 0870 333 1183. For further details go to htwww.english-heritage.org.uk/bolsovercastle.
