A 24-YEAR-old man from Bulwell has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a security van at a supermarket in Ilkeston.
He is one of two suspects taken in by detectives over the attack at Tesco in Rutland Street.
Police say a masked man threatened a G4S security-van driver at the store and stole a cash box at about 2.15 pm on Monday June 6.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said that the box contained a ‘significant amount’ of cash.
The robber, who was wearing a balaclava, made off in a black Volkswagen Golf car, which was later recovered in Muskham Avenue in Ilkeston. The car was believed to have been stolen in Leicestershire.
The Bulwell man and a 24-year-old from Nottingham have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The pair were arrested on Thursday June 16, but police have only just made the information public.
