Ashfield South Crime drops by 7 per cent this week

Police in Ashfield South are happy to report that the year-to-date crime in the Hucknall area is down by seven per cent.

Inspector Nick Butler said: “This is the equivalent of 151 fewer crimes. House burglaries have reduced by 36 per cent - the equivalent of 85 fewer burglaries.”

Operation Packhouse was in force last Tuesday in Linby Lane, Moor Road, and Ruffs Estate, Hucknall, resulting in 22 speeding offences detected.

Police received no reports of burglaries and vehicle thefts in the week leading up to 18th March. Four vans were broken into.

On Thursday 12th March between 8am and 12.20pm at Edgewood School car park, the rear passenger door of a Mercedes C Class car was scratched.
