A BULWELL man has been charged with the attempted murder of a dad and his teenage son.
Robert Watson (32), of Courtleet Way, has appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court.
Watson is yet to enter pleas and his case has been referred to Nottingham Crown Court where he will come before a judge on a date to be arranged.
He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
The allegations faced by Watson revolve around a 45-year-old man and his 16-year-old son suffering stab wounds in an attack on Waverley Street, Long Eaton on Saturday August 20.
Police were called shortly after 5 am to investigate reports that two people had been injured in a disturbance in the street.
Witnesses reported seeing a group of men leave the scene in a black car.
Both victims were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment. The teenager was discharged the next day but his father is still in hospital. He is said to be in a stable condition.
Another 32-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been released on police bail.
A 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have also been bailed.
A 31-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been quizzed by detectives.
