A former Mansfield man who emigrated to Australia in the late 60s has travelled more than 11,000 miles to trace his daughter he has not seen in 18 years.
Dale Noble, 65 from Adelaide is visiting Mansfield and has just two weeks to meet up with his daughter Christine, 47 and her mother Kaye Simpson.
Dale told Chad he lost touch with his daughter when she last visited him in Australia in 1998.
He said: “I really miss Christine - I lost her address and phone number.
“There is so much to catch up on.
“For all I know I may have grandchildren I have never seen.
“Please pick up the phone Christine and give me a ring.
“I love you and I miss you. you have been to Australia twice before.
“I need to talk to you to find out what has gone wrong.”
Mr Noble, a retired truck driver, said he moved to Australia in 1969 and his daughter was born in Mansfield General hospital on December 25.
He said me and Kaye grew up together - we both went to Intake Farm School.
“We split up and I moved to Australia - Kaye wanted to bring up Christine on her own. “We never fell out or anything like that it was just how it was back then.
Mr Noble said he kept in touch with his daughter over the years, visiting her several times in the 1970s and 1980s.
He said: “Christine came over to see me in 1988 and 1998. She was so happy to see me then. “I can only think she has lost my contact details thinking I moved somewhere interstate.”
The last address he has for them is Sterling Avenue, Mansfield.
Dale added: “Most of my family has gone now. I came over here to find her. “I’m not getting any younger and I have to fly back to Australia soon.
Mr Noble’s UK mobile is 07774770202. His Australian address is U3 1596 Main North Road, Brahma Lodge, Adelaide, South Australia 5109.
