Real ale lovers are set for a treat today as the ever-popular Hucknall Beer Festival returns for a fifth time.

The three-day celebration runs boasts a drinks list organised by Nottingham CAMRA, The Beer Shack Hucknall, Lincoln Green Brewery and Black Iris Brewery, and real ale drinkers from as far afield as Cornwall are expected to flock to the John Godber Centre for the event.

Manager Kim Pears said: “This is my fourth year on the beer festival committee and I’m looking forward to seeing both new and regular faces again. Nottingham CAMRA do a wonderful job of selecting the beers and ciders for the festival and real ale drinkers are never disappointed.”

The annual Food Market and Craft Fair will open the event today from 11am-3pm. Opening times are: Friday 13th 11am – 11pm; Saturday 14th: noon-11pm; Sunday 15th noon-3pm. Free entry to the event until 5pm, £2 after 6pm.

All drinks will be available in both a third and half pint measures to give discerning drinkers the chance to sample a wide variety of beverages and a token system will be in use.
