Betting-shop raid: man in court

A 25-YEAR-old man accused of an armed raid at a betting shop in Hucknall will not enter his plea until a court hearing in September.

Ryan Robinson, of Sargent Gardens, St Ann’s, has been charged with the robbery at Ladbrokes on High Street at 6.50 pm on Monday June 6.

His case was listed for a preliminary hearing at Nottingham Crown Court and was adjourned until Thursday September 15.

At that stage, Robinson will be expected to deny or admit charges of robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.

Robinson is on remand since appearing at Mansfield Magistrates Court on Wednesday June 8.

Two men, including one brandishing a firearm, are alleged to have entered the Ladbrokes’ betting shop.

There were two members of staff on duty and five customers in the bookmaker’s at the time.
