CASH-strapped community groups in Hucknall are urged to apply for a share of tens of thousands of pounds held by local county councillors.
The councillors’ Division Fund is a pot of £10,000 given to each county councillor to benefit local groups and projects.
Hucknall’s three county councillors are Conservatives Mick Murphy and Kevin Rostance and Tom Irvine, of the UK Independence Party (UKIP).
Each decides which schemes benefit from the cash and causes can range from pensioners’ groups to clean-up projects and sports clubs.
Coun Reg Adair (Con), lead member for finance at the county council, said: “We would encourage you to get in touch with your local councillor if you or your community group is struggling to find the money for a worthwhile one-off project or activity.”
