YOUNGSTERS from the Dispatch district took part in an attempt to break the world record for the most people performing a single dance routine at the same time.
Children of all ages from schools across Nottinghamshire joined forces at Wollaton Hall and Nottingham Playhouse.
They joined other youngsters from all over the country to dance simultaneously in a bid to break the current Guinness World Record of 264,188 people dancing in 1,472 locations, which was created in the Netherlands.
Called the Big Dance Schools Pledge, the event was also aimed at encouraging schools to stage an extra 20 minutes of dance a day during Big Dance Week, which will run from Saturday July 7 to Sunday July 15.
Organisers are waiting to hear whether the record-breaking attempt was a success.
