Boost for Chad’s air appeal

A group of hikers have donated a cheque for nearly £2,000 to the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance.

The Mansfield and Ashfield Hiking Group presented a cheque for £1,906.51 to the air ambulance to give a welcome boost to the Chad’s campaign.

Chad is calling on kind hearted readers to raise a massive £300,000 to enable the air ambulance crew to keep saving lives.

The club donated the money on 17th October but raised bumped the total amount raised up to £2,142.20 in online donations as well.

Chris Glemet, Andy Day, Paul Henshaw, Jerry Allin, John Bamford, Terry and Helen Ellis took part in a 26 mile hike in the peak district to raise the funds in September.

The hike, which went through Hope, Loose Hill, the Edale Skyline and Win Hill, took the group around 11hrs 30 minutes to complete.

Based at RAF Waddington, near Lincoln, the helicopter can reach any destination in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire in 19 minutes. But it needs to raise £1.8 million to fly each year.
