MASKED attackers, armed with pen-knives, robbed a terrified teenage boy at a beauty spot on the border of Hucknall and Linby.
Now the mum of the victim, Ashley Bradley (14), is urging other children and their parents to be on their guard.
Vicky Bradley, of Roman Crescent, Hucknall, told the Dispatch that Ashley was on his way home from Hucknall National Comprehensive School when he took his usual route across The Ranges — the former pit-tip of Linby Colliery.
But at 4 pm on Friday April 15, he was confronted by two thugs wearing balaclavas. They each pointed a small knife at Ashley and demanded his mobile phone. They shoved him to the ground and fled with the phone after it fell from Ashley’s pocket.
Mum-of-five Vicky (34) said: “It was a real ordeal. It could have been much more serious. It seemed like a random attack, so this could happen to anyone. People need to know this has happened.”
The police have launched an investigation. Anyone with information is asked to ring Hucknall CID on 0300 300 9999 or the confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555111.
