A GUN hidden in a bag is thought to have been used in an attempted armed robbery at a shop in Bulwell.
Detectives are now hunting the raider and appealing for witnesses after the attack on Farmfoods on Commercial Road on Bank Holiday Monday (June 4).
The robber entered the shop at 1.45 pm and approached a cashier, who claimed she was threatened with the gun in a bag, although no firearm was seen.
He demanded she give him money from the till, but when the drawer jammed he fled in the direction of the Commercial Road subway.
The cashier was left shaken by the attempted robbery but she was otherwise unharmed.
No-one else who was in the shop at the time was injured.
The robber is described as white, in his mid-20s, between 5’6” and 5’8” tall, of stocky build and with sharp features.
He was wearing spectacles and was dressed in a khaki-green hooded jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms and light-coloured footwear.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the attempted raid is asked to contact Nottinghamshire police on the non-emergency number, 101 (extension 802 4650).
Alternatively, call the free and confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
