THE GROUND floor of a disused pub has been gutted in a raging blaze.
Six crews of firefighters tackled the flames at the former Swinger pub on Hucknall Lane on Sunday night (June 5) and into the early hours of Monday morning (June 6).
The alarm was raised at 11.50 pm and about 20% of the bar was destroyed.
The first floor of the two-storey building suffered heat and smoke damage.
Initial reports suggested there might have been people inside. But that was not the case and no-one was injured.
Firefighters were at the scene until 3 am on Monday morning.
The police and fire service have launched an investigation and arson has not been ruled out.
Sniffer dogs have been used to sift through the debris as part of the enquiry.
