AN APPEAL has been launched to trace a boy who spat in the face of an Indian man in a racially-aggravated attack in Hucknall.

Police are hunting the boy who was riding a bike along Watnall Road when he committed the offence in broad daylight.

The victim was walking with two friends near to the junction of Watnall Road and Shortwood Avenue at 5 pm on Monday July 30 when the unprovoked attack happened

The boy, who is thought to have been 15 or 16 years old, stopped and then spat in the face of his victim before riding off in the direction of High Leys Road.

The attacker is described as white, of slim build with short, light-coloured hair and was wearing a pink t-shirt. He was with another similar-aged boy, who was also on a pushbike.

“The victim of this attack was both shocked and horrified that this could happen,” said a police spokesman. “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may know who did this.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on the non-emergency number, 101, or contact the free and confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
