BREAKING NEWS: Masked men raid betting shop

THREE masked men carried out a terrifying raid at a betting shop in Hucknall.

The robbers jumped over the counter at the Betfred premises on Ruff Drive and knocked over an employee at 8.20 pm on Thursday February 16.

Detectives are investigating and are appealing for help from the public to help track down the attackers.

The men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and also stole handbags belonging to two female employees of the betting shop.

No weapons were used in the robbery but one of the employees received a minor injury to her hand as she was pushed over by one offender.

The workers were left shaken by their ordeal.

Some of the stolen property was recovered at about 9 pm on Cornfield Road, Kimberley.

Detectives believe the robbers may have fled the scene in two vehicles — a silver car and a small black car — and are trying to trace the whereabouts of the vehicles.

If anyone believes they have seen either vehicle abandoned in the area is asked to call officers immediately.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police control room on 101 (quoting incident number 800 of February 16). Alternatively, call the free and confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
