A special meeting will shortly take place with the aim of disbanding one Bulwell community organisation and forming another.
The extraordinary general meeting will be held at Duchess Gardens Community Centre, Bulwell on Wednesday 24th September, starting at 7pm.
Rufford Tenants and Residents Association (RUTRA) is set to be dissolved and a new name would be chosen for the group to take its place.
Ros Yousouf, a member of a steering committee formed for the initiative, said: “The public are invited to attend this meeting and hear why we are proposing to close the association.
“They will also have an opportunity to discuss and then vote for or against the proposal.
In the event of the plan being approved, the new organisation will be set up at the meeting.
“This would have wider boundaries, meaning that many more local people can become members than at present. It may help to raise the profile.”
Local shops, the Riverside Library, St John’s Church and the Duchess Gardens Centre will display a map of the proposed new boundaries.
These would be from Belgrave Road to Sellers Wood Drive, past the Aldi store and Limekiln pub, the right side of Camberley Road, taking in Norwich Gardens, then part of Squires Avenue and Ravensworth Road to Rock Street, Murby Crescent, Abercarn Close and back to Belgrave Road..
The proposed new group would form a committee, adopt the constitution of Nottingham City Homes, open a new bank account and keep a minute book.
