IN just a short time since its inception, Bulwell’s RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY CHOIR has made giant strides and organisers are delighted with the friendship and camaraderie that is shining through as members prepared and performed their first Christmas Concert.

Rehearsals went well under the watchful eye of choir leader Judith Fox and accompanist Susan Newham, who are driving forces behind the 20-strong group of music makers.

Fundraising is key to the choir’s future and recently a music quiz night at Rise Park Community Centre has further boosted the coffers.

Money raised at the quiz night, which was a success, has been matched by Nottingham City Council, which is showing solid support.

“Even though the choir is operating hand to mouth, there is a distict belief that it has a bright future and given the support it deserves there are high hopes that it can go on to become a community asset,” said Mrs Fox.

Riverside Community Choir’s Christmas concert took place in the library area at Bulwell’s new Riverside health centre.

The choir meet and rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6-7.30pm in the library area behind reception.

Newcomers will be made most welcome, especially male singers.
