BUDDING sleuths will be able to get an insight into the skills of crime-scene investigation during an event at Bulwell Library next month.
Topics ranging from forensic science to effectively searching for crucial clues will be covered at the venue on Highbury Road on Friday October 14.
The event will also feature talks, guests and demonstrations.
Jonathan Wright, who is a senior lecturer in forensic science at Derby University, will also be on hand.
Mr Wright, who is a former crime-scene investigator (CSI), will speak about his experiences ‘in the field’ as well as the science and techniques used to analyse crime scenes.
Other subjects covered will include DNA, analysis and collection of fibres and fingerprints and the use of high-tech gadgets to break down a crime scene and start to unravel what happened.
The event, which is suitable for all ages, is being run by Nottingham City Council, which owns the library.
Anyone who is hooked on the series of ‘CSI’ TV programmes or is just interested in a complex profession is invited to go along to the event.
