Could you save £77m from the council’s budget?
That’s the question Nottinghamshire County Council is asking the public as it launches the first stage of its 2015/16 budget.
The massive budget gap that County Hall must find because of reduced Government grants is unlikely to improve, so residents are being asked to help formulate ideas.
Coun Alan Rhodes, leader of the council, said: “It is absolutely vital that the people get involved.
“Our approach is about doing things better, doing things more efficiently and being more creative. So rather than starting from a position of ‘how can we cut services’, we are instead asking ‘how can things be done differently’.Doing nothing is not an option.”
