SEVERE delays were caused when a vehicle — allegedly used in a robbery at a Hucknall shop — was found abandoned on Nottingham’s tram line.
Two men have since been charged with a series of offences after the car was found on tracks in Basford last Friday.
Lee Watson and Dominic Wright appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday where they were both remanded into custody.
Watson (25), of no fixed address, is alleged to have robbed a shop on Nabbs Lane, Hucknall on Thursday last week, a supermarket in Eastwood on Saturday June 30, and a shop in Bells Lane, Broxtowe, on Wednesday June 27.
He is also charged with aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and possession of an offensive weapon.
Wright, 23, of Vale Crescent South, Aspley, is alleged to have taken part in the robberies in Hucknall and Broxtowe. He is also charged with two counts of possession of an offensive weapon and one of aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving.
They are due before magistrates next Monday (July 23).
